Edith Pardy House

A supportive residential program for people aged 20 – 40, recovering from mental illness

What Edith Pardy House does

Edith Pardy House offers a semi-structured residential recovery program for up to 14 people who have experienced serious mental health issues.  The primary task of Edith Pardy House is to provide a supportively challenging environment that enables individuals to develop social and other independent living skills and to raise the quality of their lives. Clients can remain in the program for up to two years, provided that they are actively pursuing their rehabilitation goals and fulfilling their responsibilities within the shared household. Some fees are charged for the residential program to closer approximate independent living.

Selection criteria for Edith Pardy House

Edith Pardy House provides services to people aged 20 - 40 recovering from mental illness and who may also be at risk of homelessness. Services are available to people living in the Cities of Stonnington, Port Phillip and Glen Eira.

Edith Pardy House is staffed from 9.00am to 5.00pm, from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). People who apply to enter or who are referred to Edith Pardy House need to be able to manage themselves without staff support outside of these hours.

Applicants will be able to identify rehabilitation goals that they wish to achieve and to be able to commit themselves to fulfilling the responsibilities involved in living in a shared household. These include sharing in practical tasks, such as cooking, shopping and cleaning.

Where

Edith Pardy House is located in a quiet residential street in Albert Park. The main site consists of an office and staff facilities downstairs, with facilities for residents including individual bedrooms and shared communal space upstairs.

How to access the program

Referrals to Edith Pardy House, and initial enquiries regarding entry, can be made by telephone either by the person interested in entering the program, their worker or a family member.
