Mind supports community reintegration

The recent deaths at the Thomas Embling Hosiptal are unfortunate tragedies.  However this should not be used to derail a very effective process in supporting people with complex mental health needs.

"The practice of community reintegration is an important aspect in the recovery path for people with serious mental illness."

Straight from the Pool Room - music that matters

Straight from the Pool Room is a new CD composed and recorded by young people affected by mental illness.  It features original music from the residents of Denham House, a residential program for young people.

"We have discovered many talented people: singers, composers, guitarists, percussionists, and many more.  Everyone brings a unique talent and it has been a really positive team effort."

Art of Giving – an exhibition to inspire hope

The inaugural Art of Giving exhibition, opening at the Liddiard Gallery, will feature a stunning collection by some of Australia’s leading visual artists. Award-winners Neil McIrvine, Malcolm Beattie, Anna Blatman, and many more have generously donated their work to raise money towards Ambassadors of Hope, a new early intervention mental health initiative from Mind.

Courage in Recovery art exhibition

In recognition of national Mental Health Week, Mind ,Wodonga Home Based Outreach, Gateway Community Health (GTH), and Mind Triple R, Youth Residential Service launch Courage in Recovery, a visual display to recognise the strengths and courage of people who are affected by mental illness.

Runners triumph for charity: conquering Australia’s toughest mountain ultra marathon
Sheer guts and determination saw new course records set in the second running of the Mind Alpine Skyrun Ultra Marathon, which finished this morning. Eighteen runners set out on Saturday morning to overcome 160 kilometres within 48 hours through Victoria’s Alpine National Park.

The Federal Government recently announced that Mind has been chosen to deliver three Personal Helper and Mentors programs (PHaMs) to people struggling with mental illness. The programs will commence shortly in Whittlesea, The Grampians and Adelaide's eastern suburbs.
