The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response (EIPSR) service helps people with mental health conditions who are having difficulty managing everyday tasks to create a personalised recovery plan. 

This 12-month program of individualised support helps clients to live independently and safely in the community. 

About Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response:

Each client will receive up to 12 months of support to develop individual recovery goals, one to one support through the Help at Home and in the Community service, group learning and social inclusion activities, and other supports as needed. 

The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response service can help clients to do a range of things, including:

  • live independently and improve daily living skills
  • find and maintain suitable housing
  • participate in and build skills for social and community activities
  • build resilience and coping skills
  • learn and explore new ideas for personal growth
  • build skills to go back to work or study
  • improve relationships
  • connect with the broader community
  • have fun and connect with others.

Clients who accessed the Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response Service showed an improvement in their daily life skills, social connectedness and overall mental health and wellbeing.

Mind has been contracted by Northern Health to provide the Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response service to help participants live independently and safely in the community. 

Who is Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response for?

People who have a psychiatric condition and need assistance to live independently and safely in the community.

Eligible participants must currently be clients of The Northern Health Adult Mental Health Service and not have NDIS funded support. 

Available to people living in the catchment areas of Darebin and Whittlesea. 

How do I register my interest for Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response?

Applicants must be aged between 16 to 65 years. 

Interested applicants should speak to their mental health case manager. The Northern Health Community Mental Health Service treatment team will determine eligibility.
