Bree's Story

Yandina

A homelessness program providing both short term support to people in transitional housing and the wider community.

What Yandina does

  • Works supportively with clients to access, where possible, secure, affordable accommodation to help break the cycle of homelessness.
  • Provides practical assistance to address financial, legal, and other issues associated with homelessness.
  • Supports clients in transitional accommodation and provides community home based outreach support to clients in temporary and crisis accommodation, boarding and rooming houses and to those who may have no fixed abode.
  • Encourages people to make their own life choices.
  • Works alongside clients in the areas they consider important, towards developing a more personally satisfying lifestyle.

Yandina Clients
Single adults (25-55) who experience psychosocial difficulties and who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or living in unsatisfactory conditions. Users of the service may also have other substantial needs; these could be in the areas of mental health, difficulties with relationships, physical health, drug, alcohol and substance use or socialisation issues.

Where

What the program aims to achieve
