NSW Minister for Health, Rose Jackson MP and Giancarlo de Vera, Chief Executive Officer of BEING – Mental Health Consumers are two of the engaging speakers at the upcoming One Door Mental Health Symposium.

For over 20 years, this annual event has brought together a community of people passionate about driving meaningful change in the mental health sector in New South Wales. It is a unique opportunity for people to hear from and join in discussions with leading advocates, researchers and practitioners sharing research and workshop insights.

With the theme of Shaping Community Together: Lived Experience and Innovation in Mental Health, this year's Symposium represents One Door Mental Health's and Mind Australia's shared commitment to positively contribute to sector reform in New South Wales.

Audiences can join in the conversation with Minister Rose Jackson, and lived experience leader Giancarlo de Vera about the way forward for NSW mental health reform. Other highlights include a focus on the foundational importance of secure housing for people experiencing mental health challenges and an exciting introduction to a unique lived experience led residential recovery support service, opening this year in Victoria.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to help shape the advocacy asks that One Door will take to politicians across the state in the 2027 NSW state election.

Please join One Door Mental Health and Mind Australia for this one day, in-person event, on Wednesday 20 May 2026 at the Mercure Hotel Sydney, to be part of the discussion.
