More than 140 people from across the mental health sector gathered at the annual One Door Mental Health Symposium with a shared goal in mind – achieving meaningful change in the mental health sector.
On Thursday 15 May the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park hosted this year’s One Door Mental Health Symposium, which has been a forum for leading advocates, researchers, and practitioners to present research and workshop insights for more than 20 years.
The theme for this year’s Symposium was ‘From Vision to Action – Driving Meaningful Change in Mental Health. Guest speakers included:
- The Hon. Rose Jackson MP, Minister for Mental Health – on her vision for improving the mental health system in New South Wales
- Rachel Green, CEO of SANE – on the importance of listening to consumers and carers
- Ellie Hodges, CEO of LELAN – on how lived experience can drive significant system changes
- Belinda McCullough, Executive Director Victorian Operations at Mind Australia, who led a workshop to crowdsource ideas for mental health reform
- Prof. Nick Glozier, on how psychedelics might aid in treating mental illness
- Anne-Louise Biddle and Rafia Marsh, who shared insights on implementing Open Dialogue in clinical settings.
