Registrations are now open for this year’s Wellness Walk, hosted by Mind Australia and One Door Mental Health.

Held on Sunday 12 October 2025 in Sydney, the 13th annual Wellness Walk will celebrate connection, raise awareness, and show support for the thousands of people experiencing mental health challenges throughout Australia.

The events begins at Government House and features a scenic walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which symbolises a commitment to bridging the gaps in mental health support.

Participants have the option of walking 2km around the Royal Botanic Gardens, or 5.9km across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and back. People in Newcastle can also join the return walk from Foreshore Park to Rydges Newcastle on Sunday 19 October.

Since it began in 2013, the Wellness Walk has raised more than $500,000 for essential mental health supports, and has grown into a widely recognised community event.

Everyone is invited to walk with us to show support for the many people experiencing mental health challenges, and their families, carers and supporters, who aren’t getting the help they need in their community.

The Australian Government’s report on unmet need has found that 493,600 people in Australia are missing out on crucial psychosocial support. This includes 230,500 people with severe mental health challenges, and 263,100 with moderate mental health challenges.

Psychosocial support is the emotional, social, and practical assistance provided to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, to help them participate in their communities, manage daily tasks, and connect with others.

“This October, as we walk across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, we commit to bridging the gaps in mental health support – so everyone can access the help they need, when they need it,” Mind CEO Gill Callister said.

The Wellness Walk also celebrates physical wellbeing. For the past 10 years, the Wellness Walk has offered our communities a chance to increase physical activity, as well as a chance a great opportunity for social connection.

“Gathering together we demonstrate community and care for the people we support. The act of walking reflects that living with mental health challenges is a step-by-step, one-step-at-a-time process,” One Door Executive Director Kathi Boorman said.

The Wellness Walk is made possible by the long-standing support of its sponsors Lundbeck Australia and Otsuka Australia Pharmaceutical.
