The Prevention and Recovery Care service in Frankston provides people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges with short term residential stays and access to specialist mental health staff 24 hours a day. The goal of Prevention and Recovery Care is to support clients to achieve stabilised mental health and provide the skills to live safely in the community.

About Prevention and Recovery Care:

This service provides a schedule of group activities alongside individual one to one support based on each client’s strengths and goals, as identified in a personal recovery plan.

Prevention and Recovery Care is designed to support transitions out of hospital or to help clients avoid a hospital stay.

People who need short term intensive recovery support to help them transition out of an acute mental health facility or help them to avoid hospitalisation. 

The Frankston Prevention and Recovery Care service is funded by the Department of Health and is run in partnership with Peninsula Health.

How do I register my interest in Prevention and Recovery Care?

Applicants for the Frankston Prevention and Recovery Care must be aged between 16 to 65 years. 

Access is through the clinical provider and facilitated through psychiatric assessment. This may be via Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) on 1300 792 977
