Supported independent living - PRESTON
Supported independent living services are provided to residents who live two-to-a-unit. This service is for people who want to be free to live as they choose, but have 24/7 access to staff on-site to assist them if necessary. As a resident here, you will be supported to develop your confidence to live independently and achieve the goals in your NDIS plan. Tenancy is managed separately.
People whose capacity to live independently is impacted by long-term mental ill-health and who have an NDIS package with supported independent living services included to an appropriate level of funding.
How to access:
Applicants must be between 18-64 years of age and have the financial means to pay the rent/board and lodgings for the unit. Applicants should be looking for a place suitable for someone recovering from mental ill-health.
Be supported to develop your confidence to live independently and achieve the goals in your NDIS plan.
Our six-unit property in Preston is in a quiet residential street, walking distance from local shops and public transport. Each unit has: 2 bedrooms; shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom. We promote a sense of community here, and encourage the residents and staff (some of whom are peer workers) to get together regularly for the opportunity to share and offer friendly support. We run workshops every week on things like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, keeping on top of bills, self-care, managing your health, and finding balance in your life.
