Supported Independent Living - HAVEN MOOROOPNA

High quality, long-term housing with support to help people living with mental ill-health live life to the fullest

Supported Independent Living services are provided to residents who live in shared accommodation and who have NDIS funding for assistance with activities of daily living. At this residence, 24/7 support is provided. The staff team have specialised skills in supporting people with mental health-related disability, or dual disability (mental health plus intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder or acquired brain injury) and complex needs.

They'll help you with daily life tasks and develop your skills for independent living - including helping you to connect with activities and other supports in the community. Support is tailored to help you achieve the goals in your NDIS Plan. Tenancy is managed separately by a third party agent.

The Haven Homes model promotes and supports the involvement of family, friends and other carers in the lives of residents, as appropriate to each person's needs.

Site description

This Haven Homes property has 16 independent units (cabin style) which are fully self-contained with indoor and outdoor common areas and staff facilities, and set in attractive gardens.

This property is very close to public transport, local shops and other amenities.

Haven Mooroopna is currently under construction and anticipated completion is March 2021.

Who for:

People whose capacity to live independently is impacted by long-term mental ill-health and who have an NDIS Supported Independent Living package, funded for assistance with activities for daily living.

How to access:

Applicants must be between 18-64 years of age and have the financial means to pay for the rent/board and utilities. Applicants should be looking for a place suitable for someone recovering from mental ill-health. To be eligible you will be a current resident of Mooroopna and willing to participate in the community that fosters family and carers involvement. Applicants must be on the Victorian Housing Register or willing to be listed on the Victorian Housing Register once shortlisted.
