Mind Australia and The Haven Foundation are pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Wynne as Chair of The Haven Foundation Board and a Director on the Board of Mind Australia.
Mr Wynne replaces Jeremy Coggin as Chair of The Haven Foundation Board and also joins Mind’s Board as a Director. Mr Coggin will continue to serve The Haven Foundation as a Director.
Mr Wynne served in public office in Victoria for more than 20 years. During his decorated career in state government he served as Minister for Housing, Planning, Multicultural Affairs, Aboriginal Affairs and Local Government. He is a former Lord Mayor of Melbourne and served as a Melbourne City Council member.
“Together, Mind and The Haven Foundation are providing safe, affordable and secure housing, complemented by wrap around supports, for people dealing with mental health challenges,” Mr Wynne said.
“The breadth of supports the two organisations provide make an essential contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of people across Australia and I look forward to supporting this important work.”
Mind CEO Gill Callister said Mr Wynne’s knowledge and experience across these portfolios would make him an asset to Mind and its subsidiary The Haven Foundation.
“Mind and The Haven Foundation are proud and fortunate to have Richard bring his unparalleled experience and insight to these two organisations,” she said.
Mind is pleased to also welcome new Board Director Simon Dubois. Mr Dubois is a partner of KPMG in the Audit and Assurance division and their National Technology Sector Lead. He is a current member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA).
Mr Dubois said he is passionate about ensuring communities, and particularly vulnerable individuals within them, have access to appropriate mental health support.
“Mind is an amazing organisation and I have been so inspired already by the passion, knowledge and experience of all involved. I look forward to being part of this important organisation to help make a difference and provide support to those in need in our community,” he said.
We are delighted to welcome Simon Dubois to Mind. He brings a valuable wealth of financial and digital experience to the Board,” Ms Callister said.
