Cairns Community Care Unit (CCU) is a residential mental health recovery service that offers 24/7 mental health care, peer support and activities. The team includes community and clinical mental health practitioners, a family engagement worker and peer support worker. Planned programs provide a blend of group and one-to-one activities to support your needs and recovery goals. Staying at Cairns CCU is voluntary. Length of stay depends on your mental health recovery goals and plan.
There are 20 self-contained, one-bedroom units, each with a fridge, cooking facilities, television, washing machine and linen.

People who are experiencing serious mental health issues and whose daily lives have been disrupted, making living independently difficult.
Outcome Statement
Stabilised mental health and the skills to live safely in the community.
