Breaking the Burnout Cycle for Employees and Organisations
Burnout—marked by exhaustion, negativity, and lost efficacy—is everywhere. 61% of Australian workers experience it, driving absenteeism, turnover, and workplace disengagement. Burnt-out employees are 63% more likely to take sick leave and 2.6x more likely to resign—organisations can’t afford to ignore it.

Firebreak is a first-of-its-kind wellness program tackling burnout at individual and systemic levels. Mind brings an evidence-based understanding of burnout, to address both employee traits and workplace contributors to rebuild compatibility between the two. Working like an EAP, our team of Peer Workers and Occupational Therapists work alongside employees to realign roles, improve sustainability, and prevent burnout from recurring. Uniquely, if an employee recognises that their role is no longer the right fit, Firebreak offers guidance for a supported, positive transition – leaving relationships warm and breaking the cycle of overwhelm.
Based on employee consultations and feedback, Firebreak provides anonymised insights into systemic workplace hazards and actionable solutions. We equip leaders with the knowledge and tools to prevent burnout before it starts, fostering a healthier, more sustainable workplace where employees can thrive.
Mind Australia has specialist peer workers and occupational therapists; who utilise their knowledge and skills to support workers to explore the causes and personalised solutions for breaking the cycle of burnout.
